Health Care Providers Information Welcome. Diabetes management in school is important. With the increase in childhood obesity there are more children with type 2 diabetes that are managed by their primary care provider. Children spend up to ten times more time during the day at school - more than any other setting besides home. Most children with diabetes need to monitor blood sugar at school and take insulin at school.
Community health care providers are vital to helping kids with diabetes remain in good control. Saint Paul Public Schools works with community health care providers to help students remain healthy.
